97-046 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 2-98 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE NO. 97-046
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING
SECTION 2-98 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE INCREASE IN EMERGENCY
AND NON-EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE RATES; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1997.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Section 2-98 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris be, and the
same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 2-98. Ambulance Service Rates.
"(a) The following rates are established for emergency medical vehicle service
for residents and non-residents of Lamar County:
"1. ADVANCED LIFE $300.00 plus $4.00 per mile
SUPPORT (ALS) from point of pickup within
Lamar County to point of
delivery
"2. BASIC LIFE $275.00 plus $4.00 per mile
SUPPORT (BLS) from point of pickup within
Lamar County to point of
delivery
"3. OUT OF LAMAR $350.00 plus $4.00 per mile
COIJNTY TRANSFER from point of pickup to point
SERVICE of delivery
"4. TRANSFER SERVICE $185.00 plus $4.00 per mile
from point of pickup within
Lamar County to point of
delivery
"5. RETURN TRIP $180.00 plus $4.00 per mile
from point of pickup to point
of delivery
"6. PERSONAL $500.00 plus $4.00 per mile
PREFERENCE from point of pickup to point
TRANSFER SERVICE of delivery; and to point of
return outside Paris City
Limits to point of origin
inside Paris City Limits
beyond a 125-mile radius
"7. CHILDREN'S $200.00 fixed rate from local
MEDICAL CENTER OF hospital to Cox Field Airport
DALLASTRANSPORT
"8. STANDBY $300.00 for the first hour and
$60.00 for each additional
hour on an as-available, first-
request, first-serve basis
"(b) In addition to the established rates, a usual, reasonable, and customary
charge for medical supplies and service used or required in connection with
emergency and non-emergency transfer service shall be made."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on October 1, 1997.
