97-047 ORD ADOPTING BUDGET FOR ENSUING FISCAL PERIOD BEGINNING OCTOBER 1 1997 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30 1998 IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHARTER OF COP ORDINANCE NO. 97-047 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCAL PERIOD BEGINNING OCTOBER l, 1997, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1998, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF PARIS, APPROPRIATING THE VARIOUS AMOUNTS THEREOF; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Paris has submitted to the Ciry Council a proposed budget of the revenues of said City and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof and providing a complete financial plan for the ensuing fiscal period, beginning October 1, 1997, and ending September 30, 1998, and which said proposed budget has been compiled from detailed information obtained from the several departments, divisions, and offices of said City; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has received said City Manager's proposed budget, a copy of which proposed budget and all supporting schedules have been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Paris, and is of the opinion that the same should be approved and adopted, as amended, and that a public hearing before the City Council has been provided for as required by Article V, Section 50, of the Charter of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COLTNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That the proposed budget of the revenues of the City of Paris and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof, providing a complete financial plan for the ensuing fiscal period beginning October 1, 1997, and ending September 30, 1998, as submitted to the City Council by the City Manager of said City, be, and the same is in all things, adopted and approved, as amended, as the budget of all of the current expenses as well as the fixed charges against said City for the fiscal period beginning October 1, 1997, and ending September 30, 1998. Section 2. That the sum of $3,147,530.00 is hereby appropriated out of the Water and Sewer Revenue Bond Fund for the purpose of paying accrued interest and making the principal payments as the same mature on the Water and Sewer Revenue Bonds, and creating the prescribed contingent and reserve fund therefor. Section 5. That the sum of $993,200.00 is hereby appropriated out of the Community Development Grant Fund for payment of operating expenses and capital outlay for the Community Development Department, as hereinafter itemized: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Community Development $ 993,200.00 Total $ 993,200.00 Section 6. That the sum of $1,655,000.00 is hereby appropriated out of the Economic Development Fund for payment of operating expenses and capital outlay for the Paris Economic Development Corporation, as hereinafter itemized: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUND: Economic Development $1,655,000.00 Total $ 1,655,000.00 Section 7. That the sum of $10,000.00 is hereby appropriated out of the Child Safety Fund for payment of operating expenses and capital outlay for the Emergency Medical Services Department, as hereinafter itemized: CHILD SAFETY FUND: Child Safety-EMS $ 10,000.00 Total $ 10,000.00 Section 8. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 9. This ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the City Council of the City of Paris.
