88-025 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 29-80 AND SECTION 29-112 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE N0. 88-025
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 29-80 AND SECTIOIV
29-112 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF A REVISED
TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED
$200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
AUGUST 1, 1988.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That Section 29-80 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so
that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 29-80. Traffic-control system.
(a) Establishment. A traffic-control system for
the City of Paris is hereby adopted and designated and
set out upon the traffic-control map of the City of
Paris, Texas, said map being a part of this section as
fully as if the same were set forth herein in detail.
All traffic-control devices and all parking spaces and
prohibited parking areas shall be placed and marked
only in accordance with this map and amendments thereto
and shall comply with the Uniform Traffic Manual of the
State of Texas.
(b) Traffic-control map adopted. Two (2)
original, official and identical copies of the
traffic-control map are hereby adopted, bearing the
signature of the mayor, the attestation of the city
clerk and approved as to form by the city attorney on
July 11, 1988, and shall be filed and maintained as
follows:
(1) . . .
(2) One copy shall be filed with the chief, Paris
police department, and shall be maintained
up-to-date by the Director of Community
Development by posting all changes in the
form of subsequent amendments for use in
enforcing the observance of said no-parking
established.
(3) Reproductions for information purposes may
from time to time be made of the official
traffic-control map."
Section 2. That Section 29-112 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so
that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 29-112. Traffic parking system.
(a) Establishment. A traffic parking system for
the City of Paris is hereby established, consisting of
a traffic-control map adopted in Section 29-80 for the
City of Paris, said map being a part of this section as
fully as if the same were set forth herein in detail.
All parking spaces and prohibited parking areas shall
be placed and marked only in accordance with this
traffic-control map and amendments thereto."
Section 3. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a C1ass "C"
Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum
not to exceed $200.00, and each and every day's continuance
of any violation of the above enumerated section shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective on
August 1, 1988.
