AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED IN
'THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BLLONGING TO VARIOUS OWNERS, AND AN
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL FINDING THE MATERIALS KEMAINING ON
THE PREMISES TO CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TU F3E A FIRE HAZARD TO
LIFE AND PROPERTY AND A HAZARll TO THE LiFE AND WELFARE OF THE
INHABITAIvTS CF ThE AREA, AND ORDERING SAID RUBBISH, LUMBER AND
REFUSE FROM THE STRUCTURES TO BE TORN DOWN AND REMOVED FROM THE
PRENIISES IN ORDEK TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCE.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was called to order by the Mayor
of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clif£ord, on the 14th day of
January, 1991, at 6:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Room, City
Hall, in the City of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazarci
Inspection Committee fixed a date for hearing on the resolutions
referred to the Committee by the City Couricil on the lOth day of
September, 1990, amended on the 24th day o£ September, 1990,
amended on the 15th day of October, 1990, and said Committee
fixed said hearing at 10:00 o'clock A.M. on the I6th day of
November, 1990, and the hearing was had thereon. That proper
notice was given to the owner or owners of the structures located
at the following addresses:
1366 Church, Lot 20, Block 4, Texas & Pacific Add.

2303 W. Kaufman, Lot l, City Block 208
323 Brown Ave., Lot 3, Block 1, Locust Hill Add.

'That at said hearing the Committee listed the structures involved
and introduced pictures of the various portions of the structures
and various portions of the premises involved and a list of
discrepancies in the structtares located thereon. That the
Committee found that each of the above structures was in such
state of deterioration and dilapidation as to create a serious
fire hazard to life and property and that each of said buildings
was dilapidated and was dangerous ta life and property and
dangerous structures to life and property. That said buildings
are in such a state of dil_apidation and decay that none of said
structures are capable of repair. It is further found that the
condition of the premises and structures involved was such that
the Committee recommended to the City Council that they be
declared a nuisance and that the owners thereof be ordered by the
City Council to tear down and remove the same from the lots
involved. That said Committee iiled a complete report of its
hearing and its findings with the City Clerk af the City of Paris
on the 14th day of December, 1990; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that proper notice
was given to the owner or owners of the structures hereinafter
listed. That at said hearing on the 16th day of November, 1990,
the Cominittee listed the structures involved and introduced
pictures of the various portions af the structures and various
portions of the premises involved and a list of discrepancies in
the structures located thereoti. That the Committee found that
each of the hereinafter listed structures was in such state of
deterioration and dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard
to life and property, and that each of said buildings was
dilapidated and dangerous to life and property and dangerous
structures to life and property. That the owners of the property
appeared before the Committee and requested time to repair the
structures or the Committee found that the structures could be
repaired. T'hat it was the recommendation of the Committee that
the structures be condemned or repaired and that the respective
owners thereof be given the time to abate said nuisance by repair
or removal as is set out in connection with each ot such
addresses, as follows:

Inspection Committee filed with the City Clerk of the City of
Paris on the 14th day of December, 1990; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has fully heard and considered the
testimony presented upon the hearing and a complete transcript of
the testimony reported by the Building Hazard Inspection
Committee; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That the structures located at the tollowing
addresses:

323 Brown Ave., Lot 3, Block l, Locust Hill Add.

they are dangerous to life and property, and that the same
constitute a fire hazard to life and property, and that the
respective owners are hereby ordered to abate such nuisance
within thirty (30) days from the date hereof.
That the structures located at the following addresses:

are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared a nuisance, in that
they are dangerous to life and property, and that the same
constitute a fire hazard to life and property, and that the
respective owners are hereby ordered to abate such nuisance
on or before the date set out above in connection with the
addresses of each of such structures. The City Clerk is directed
to furnish the owners a copy of this ordinance, in the event the
addresses of said owners are known, and in the event the
respective owners refuse to comply with this ordinance, the City
Attorney, T. K. Haynes, is hereby directed to proceed to enforce
this ordinance by the procedure provided for in Article III of
Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances ot the City of Paris.
Section 2. That the structures hereinafter enumerated
are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared a nuisance, in that
they are dangerous to life and property, and that the same
constitute a fire hazard to life and property, and that the
respective owners are hereby ordered to abate such nuisances on
or before the dates set out in connection with the addresses of
each of such structures, as follows:

ordinance, in the event the addresses of said owners are knawn,
and in the event the respective owners refuse to comply with this
ordinance, the City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, is hereby directed to

in Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances cf the City
of Paris.
