91-049 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 16 ORDINANCE N0. 91-049 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 16; PRUVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF THE DEFINITIUN OF DIVISION; AND PROVIDING FUR AN INCREASE IN RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE SERVICE FEE AND ANIENDING THE BEFINITION; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR COLLECTION OF SUCH FEE ON ALL ACCUUNTS BILLED AFTER OCTOBER I, 1991. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCiL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section l. That Article II1 of Chapter 16 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so as to read as foilows: "ARTICLE III. SOLID WASTE, HEALTH AND SAFETY SERVICE FEE Sec. 16-41. Definition. (a) As used in this article, the word department shall mean the billing and collecting department of the water division of the water and sewer fund of the City. (b) As used in this article, the phrase "residential unit" shall mean any unit which contains a bathroom, kitchen and bedroom or combination of the same. Sec. 16-42. Fees Established. (a) A solid waste health and safety service fee of $3.00 is established for each residential unit, each commercial establishment and each industry. (b) A residential. trash pickup fee of $7.00 is established for each residential unit. The occupant of a residential unit who dwells in a multi-family complex consisting of four (4) units or more, whose landlord has an annual trash pickup service contract with an approved commercial trash collector is entitled to make application, direct or through his landlord, to the department to be exempt from the $7.00 residential unit trash pickup fee. Sec. 16-43. Collection The division shall collect the fees as established in Section 16-42." Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances iri conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective with such billings after October 1, 1991. Passed and adopted this 26th day of September, 1991.
