AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHINU A MAXIMUM, REASONABLE AND
PRUDENT RATE OF SPEED ON CERTAIN PURTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS
AND HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF PARIS;
PROVIDING FOR A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CUNFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING k'O1Z AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF NOVEMBER 1, 1990.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That the following maximum, reasonable and
prudent rates of speed sha11 shall be established on those
portions of the street hereinafter described:
"From the South curbline of E. Kaufman, South, to
the North curbline of E. Woodlawn Street on 3rd S.E., a
speed limit of twenty (20) miles per hour at all times;
From the 600 block of New Jefferson Road, East, to
the 1500 block of New Jefferson Road on Old Jefferson
Road, a speed limit of thirty (30) miles per hour at
all times;
On Loop 2$6 Southwesterly from the intersection of
U. S. Highway 271 South to the intersection of U. S.
Highway 82 (Bonham Street), a speed limit of fitty five
(55) miles per hour at all times."
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Niisdemeanor, and upon
conviction sha11 be fined in any sum not to exceed $200.00.
Section 3. Al1 ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
November l, 1990.
