ORDINANCE N0. 89-013
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEX.AS,
PROVIDIT?G THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 20-2 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING
FOR AN INCREASE IN PROPERTY OCCUPIED BY THE PARIS PUBLIC
LIBRARY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
COPIFLTCT HEREWITH; AND PROVTDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
MAY 1, 1989.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That Section 20-2 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so
that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 20-2. Purpase.
The purpose of the library department shall
be to maintain a free public library within the
City. Such free public librdry sha11 be located
upon the property donated to the City by J. J.
Culbertson and wife, Emily Lee Culbertson, the
same being a lot one hundred (100) feet deep,
which fronts one hundred (100) feet on the west
side of South Main Street, and property purchased
by the City of Paris, being Lots 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7,
City Block 178, two hundred seventeen and 7/10
(217.7) feet deep, which fronts two hundred (200)
feet on the west side of South Main Street a
distance of .9995 acres of land, which shall be
known as the "Paris Public Library."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on
May 1, 1989.
