POLICY ISSUE(S):
BACKGROUND:
State Statute allows for official canvass of the General Election to be held between May 15th and May
23`d. In speaking with the Mayor and the City Manager, we have decided to have a special City Council
meeting on Monday, May 21St at 5:30 p.m. for the purpose of canvassing the Election.
Our second regularly scheduled meeting in May would normally be on May 28. Since May 28`h is a
holiday, we have scheduled the second meeting in May for Thursday, May 31 St at 5:30 p.m. We could
not schedule a meeting for Tuesday, May 29,h, because the Council Chambers will be used by the
County as a polling place on Election Day.
