AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 1710 OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS AIV'D CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY
THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT
(C) BET[JEEN N. MAIN STREET AND THE BUP.LINGTON NORTHERN RAIL-
ROAD, SOUTH OF LAKE CROOK ROAD, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO MCCOY
BUILDING CENTER, TRICO, KNIGHT-PICKENS, JERRY SANSOM, BENNIE &
JOYCE FREEMAN, MRS. HOWARD S. SMTTH, CHARLENE SMITH, OLLIE B.
CHISM, GENE BOYD, T.U. ELECTRIC, COUNCIL ESTATE AND COY JOHNSON,
SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A
AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (A); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That the boundaries heretofore established by
the Zoning Map and Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby changed, and that a
COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C), be, and the same is hereby established
on BETWEEN N. MAIN STREET AND THE BURLINGTON NORTHERN RAILROAD,
SOUTH OF LAKE CROOK ROAD, on property belonging to MCCOY BUILDING
CENTER, TRICO, KNIGHT-PICKENS, JERRY SANSOM, BENNIE & JOYCE
FREEMAN, MRS. HOWARD S. SMITH, CHARLENE SMITH, OLLIE B. CHISM,
CENE BOYD, T.U. ELECTRIC, COUNCIL ESTATE ANU COY JOHNSON, so as
to include in such COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) the hereinafter
described property, which was formerly and is presently
designated as a AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (A), and that the bound-
aries of said COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C), be, and the same are
hereby established as follows:
Situated within the corporate limits of the City
of Paris, County of Lamar, and State of Texas, and
being Beginning at the intersection of the South
Boundary Line of Lake Crook Road with the East Boundary
Line of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad;
THENCE Easterly with the South Boundary Line of
Lake Crook Road to its intersection with the West
Boundary Line of U.S. Highway 271;
THENCE Southerly with the West Boundary Line of U.
S. Highway 271 to a point that is 1,629 feet North of
the North Boundary Line of Loop Highway 286 N.W.;
THENCE West, 670 feet more or less to a point in
the East Boundary Line of the St. Louis and San
Francisco Railroad;
THENCE Northerly with the East Boundary Line of
the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, 3,100 feet
more or less to the place of beginning.
Section 2. That the Director of Community Development of
the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby directed to change the
Zoning Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the provisions
of Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use map accompanying the same,
and in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon passage.
Passed and adopted by the City Council ot the City of Paris,
in regular session convened, in the Council Room, City Ha11,
Paris, Texas, on this the 8th day of May, 1989.
