89-037 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE REVISED BY AMENDING CHAPTER 26 ARTICLE 1 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE N0. 89-037
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS TEXAS, PROVIDING
THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY
REVISING CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE I, OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR
EXPANSION OF THE POLICE UEPARTMENT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 2, 1989.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CUUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Chapter 26, Article I, Section 26-1 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be
amended so that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 26-1. Composition of department.
The police department of the city shall be composed of
the chief of police, and thirty-seven (37) members
classified as follows:
(1) One (1) assistant chief.
(2) Four (4) police lieutenants.
(3) Eight (8) police sergeants.
(4) Three (3) police corporals.
(4) Twenty-one (21) police officers."
Section 2. Al1 ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on
October 2, 1989.
Passed and adopted this 2nd day of October, 1989.
