ORDINANCE N0. 89-043
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING 272 STREET N.E., BEGINNING
APPROXIMATELY AT THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF PRICE STREET,
NORTH TO THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF WALNUT STREET; AND WALNUT
STREET, BEGINNING APPROXIMATELY AT THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF
NORTH COLLEGIATE DRIVE, WEST TO THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF
LOTS 9-A AND 9-B, CITY BLOCK 257-D; DECLARING NO NECESSITY OR
NEED OF SAID STREETS FOR CITY USE OTHER THAN FOR A UTILITY
EASEMENT, WHICH IS EXPRESSLY RETAINED BY THE CITY OF PARIS;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF NOVEMBER l, 1989.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Paris, that 272 Street N.E.
between Price Street and Walnut Street, and Walnut Street
between 272 Street N.E. and North Collegiate Drive are of no
use as streets to the City of Paris or to its citizens, but
are of use and necessary to the City of Paris and its
citizens for utility easemeryt purposes, and the City Council
so finds; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section I. That 272 Street N.E., beginning
approximately at the North Boundary Line of Price Street,
North to the South Boundary Line of Walnut Street; and Walnut
Street from the West Boundary Line of North Collegiate Drive,
west to the East Boundary Line of Lots 9-A and 9-B, City
Block 257-D, are hereby closed, with the City of Paris
retaining utility easements.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on
November 1, 1989.
