ORDINANCE $8-016
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
PROVIDING THAT THE COllE OF nRDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 152-5 AND BY ADDING SECTION
152-6, PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF MUNICIPAL COURT
CLERKS AND DEPUTY MUNICIPAL COURT CLERKS AUTHORIZED TQ
PERFORM ALL THE DtTTIES IMPOSED UPON THE MUNICIPAL COURT
CLERK. PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MAY 9, 1988.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by revising Section
152-5, to read as follows:
"Sec. 152-5. Municipal Caurt Clerk.
The City Manager shall appoint a Municipal Court
Clerk who shall be recommended by the City Attorney."
Section 2. That the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Paris, Paris, Texas be amended by adding Section 152-6,
to read as follows:
"Sec. 152-6. Deputy Municipal Court Clerks.
The City Manager shall appoint Deputy Municipal
Court Clerks upon recommendation of the Municipal Court
Clerk as necessary to assure timely processing of
Municipal Court cases. Deputy Clerks may lawfully
perform all duties imposed upon the clerk and are
authorized to administer oaths to complaints filed in
the Municipal Court, make certificates, and affix the
seal of said court."
Section 3. A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
May 9, 1988.
