AN ORDINANCE CLOSING 23RD NORTHWEST STREET, BEGINNING
AT THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF WEST PLUM STREET; THENCE NORTH
339 FEET TO THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF WEST CHERRY STREET
AND THE ALLEY BEGINNING AT A POINT IN THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE
OF 23RD N.W. STREET APPROXIMATELY 162 FFET NORTH OF THE
NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF WEST PLUM STREET; THENCE EAST 160
FEET TO THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF 22ND N.W. STREET;
DECI,ARING NO NECESSITY OR NEED OF SAID STREET AND ALLEY FOR
CITY USE OTHER THAN FOR A UTILITY EASEMENT, WHICH IS
EXPRESSLY RETAINED BY THE CITY OF PARIS; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 14, 1987.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Paris, that 23rd Northwest
Street, beginning at the North Boundary Line of West Plum
Street, thence North 339 feet to the South Boundary Line of
West Cherry Street and the alley beginning at a point in the
East Boundary line of 23rd N.W. Street approximately 162
feet North of the North boundary line of West Plum Street,
thence East 160 feet to the West boundary line of 22nd N.W.
Street are of no use as a street or alley to the City of
Paris or to its citizens, but are of use and necessary to
the City of Paris and its citizens for utility easement
purposes, and the City Council so finds; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That 23rd Northwest Street, beginning at
the North Boundary Line of West Plum Street; thence North
339 feet to the South Boundary Line of West Cherry Street
and the alley beginning at a point in the East Boundary line
of 23rd N.W. Street approximately 162 feet North of the
North boundary line of West Plum Street, thence East 160
feet to the West boundary line of 22nd N.W. Street, are
hereby closed, with the City of Paris retaining a utility
easement.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on
September 14, 1987.
