<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE N0. 87-085 <br /> <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br /> PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE <br /> AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 4-6 OF CHAPTER 4 OF SAID CODE; <br /> PROV?DING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE RABIES CONTROL ACT OF <br /> 1981; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; <br /> REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES Olt PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br /> HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY l, <br /> 1988. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PARIS: <br /> Section l. That Section 4-6 of the Code of <br /> Ordinances of the City of. Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so <br /> that such shall read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 4-6. Rabies Control <br /> <br /> 1. All pertinent provisions of the Rabies <br /> Control Act of 1981, Article 4477-6A Vernon's <br /> Texas Civil Statutes, is adopted, and in the event <br /> of conflict between said Act and the Code of <br /> Ordinances, the Act shall control <br /> 2. The Chief, Paris Police Department or <br /> some other eligible person shall be designated by <br /> Resolution as the Local Health Authority for the <br /> purpose of administering the Rabies Control Act. <br /> 3. All dogs or cats within the city limits <br /> shall be vaccinated against rabies by the time the <br /> dog or cat is four months of_ age and at regular <br /> intervals thereafter as prescribed by rules of the <br /> Texas Board of health. <br /> <br /> 4. A veterinarian who vaccinates a dog or <br /> cat against rabies shall issue to the owner of the <br /> animal a vaccination certificate in a form which <br /> meets the minimum standards approved by the Texas <br /> Board of Health. <br /> 5. No dog or cat shall be registered or <br /> licensed that has not be.en vaccinated in <br /> accordance with this section." <br /> Section 2. Any person violating any of the <br /> provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class C <br /> Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum <br /> not to exceed $200.00, and each and Pvery day's continuance <br /> of any violation of the above enumerated section shall <br /> constitute and be deemed a separate offense. <br /> Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in <br /> conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
