AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED
IN THE CITY QF PARIS, TF.XAS, BELONGING TO VARIOUS OWNERS,
AND AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COtTNCIL FINDING THE MATERIALS
R.EMAINING ON THE PREMISES TO CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE
A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY AND A HAZARD TO THE LIFE
AND WELFARE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA, AND ORDERING
SAID RUBBISH, LUMBER AND REFUSE FROM THE STRUCTURES TO BE
TORN DOWN AND REMOVED FROi1 TNE PREMISES IN ORDER. TO ABATE
SUCH NUISANCE.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was called to order by the
Mayor of the City of Paris, George Fisher, Jr., on the lOth
day of February, 1986, at 7:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council
Room, City Ha1l., in the city of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building
Hazard Inspection Committee fixed a date for hearing on the
resolution referred to the Committee by the City Council an
the 9th day of September, 1985, and said Committee fixed
said hearing at 10:00 o'clock A.M. on the 31st day of
January, 1986, and the hearing was had thereon. That proper
notice was given to the owner or owners of the structures
located at the following addresses:

That at said hearing the Committee listed the structures
invo?ved and introduced pictures of the various portions of
the structures and various portions of the premises involved
and a list of discrepancies in the structures located
thereon. That the Committee found that each of the above
structures was in such state of deterioration and
dilapidation as to create a serious f.ire hazard to life and
property and that each of said buildings was dilapidated and
was dangerous to life and property azid dangerous structizres
to life and propPrty. That said buildings are in such a
state of dilapidation and decay that none of said structures
are capable of repair. It is further found that the condi-
tion of the premises and structures involved was such that
the Committee recommended to the City Council that they be
declared a nuisance and that the owners thereof be ordered
by the City Council to tear down and remove the same from
the lots involved. That said Cotmnittee filed a complete
report of its hearing and its findings with the City Clerk
of the City of Paris on the 5th day of February, 1986; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council further finc?s that proper
notice was given to the owner or owners of the structures
hereinaf.ter Iisted. That at said hearing on the 31st day of.
January, 1986, the Committee listed the structures involved
and introduced pictures of the various portions of thP
structures and various portions of the premises involved and
a list of discrepancies in the structures located thereon.
That the Commi_ttee .fotind that each of the hereinafter listed
structures was in such state of deterioration and
dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and
property, and that each of said buildings was dilapidated
and dangerous to life and property and dangerous structures
to life and property. That the owners of the property
appeared before the Committee and requested time to repair
the structures or the Committee found that the structures
could be repaired. That it was the recommendation of the
Committee that the structures be condemned or repaired anci
that the respective owners thereof be given the time to
abate said nuisance by repair or removal as is set out in
connection with each of such addresses, as follows:

and it is so stated in the report of the Building Hazard
Inspection Committee filed wi.th the City Clerk of the City
of Paris on the 5th day of February, 1986; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has fully heard and con-
sidered thP testimony presented upon the hearing and a
complete transcript of the testimony reported by the
Building Hazard Inspection Committee; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL QF THE CITY QF
PARIS:

are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared a nuisance, in
that they are dangerous to life and property, and that the
same constitute a fire hazard to life and property, and that
the respective owners are hereby ordered to abate such
nuisance within thirty (30) days from the date hereof_. The
Cit_y Clerk is directed to furnish the owners a copy of this
ordinance, in the event the addresses of said owners are
known, and in the event the respective owners refuse to
comply with this ordinance, the City Attorney, T. K. Haynes,
is hereby directed to proceed to enforce this ordinance by
the procedure provided form in Article III of Chapter 7 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris.
Section 2. That the structures hereinafter
enumerated are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared a
nuisance, in that they are dangerous to life and property,
and that the same constitute a f.ire hazard to life and
property, and that the respective owners are hereby ordered
to abate such nuisances on or before the dates set out in
connection with the addresses uf each of sucti structures, as
follows:

The City C1erk is directed to furnish the owners a copy of
this ordinance, in the event the addresses of said owners
are known, and in the event the respective owners refuse to
comply with this ordinance, the City Attorney, T. K. Haynes,
is hereby directed to proceed to enforce this ordinance by
the procedure provided for in Article III of Chapter 7 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris.
