86-032 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 4-16 OF SAID CODE

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 4-16 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING
THAT ANIMALS BE NEUTERED OR SPAYED UPON BEFORE BEING SOLD
UPON THE FAILURE TO BE REDEEMED BY THE OWNER; PROVIDING FOR
A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING AL,L ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1986.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section 1. That Section 4-16 of the Code of Ordi-
nances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so
that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 4-16. Sale of impounded dogs and cats.
The Chief of Police may sell impounded dogs
and cats for cash after the same have been
impounded for three (3) days. As a condition of
any sale the purchaser shall deposit with the
pound master the charge for neutering or spaying
of the veterinarian of their choice of the animal
selected for purchase; thereafter, the pound
master shall deliver the animal and the fee
collected to the veterinarian of the purchaser's
choice and the animal will then be delivered to
the purchaser by the veterinarian after the
completi-on of the required procedure."
Section 2. Any person violating any of the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C"
Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum
not to exceed $200.00, and each and every day's continuance
of any violation of the above enumerated section shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expresslq repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
October 1, 1986.
