86-042 ORD PROVIDING ORDINANCE NO 1710 BE AMENDED PROVIDING FOR SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR BILLBOARDS AND ADVERTISING SIGNS IN COMMERCIAL DISTRICT ORDINANCE N0. 86-042 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT ORDINANCE N0. 1710 BE AMENDED; PROVIDING FOR A SPECIFIC USE PERNiIT FOR BILLBOARDS AND ADVERTISING SIGNS IN COMMERCIAL DISTRICT AND GENERAL RETAIL UISTRICTS AND CORRECTING THE LIST OF SPECIFIC USE PERMITS IN SECTION 12 OF SAID ORDINANCE BY ADDING THERETO BILLBOARD AND ADVERTISING SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $1,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERFWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF DECEMBER 1, 1986. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Section Ordinance 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended as follows: a. That Paragraph 8-107, Commercial and Service Uses, be amended by providing for permissible uses to be made by adding to and amending the Schedule of Uses as follows: "Delete Billboard and Advertising Sign from the permissive uses in the Commercial District (C); Add Billboard and Advertising Sign as a permissive use with a Specific Use Permit in the General Retail (GR) and the Commercial District (C)." b. That Paragraph 12-100 be amended by adding thereto the following: "(52) Billboard and advertising sign in the GR and C Districts." Section 2. Any person violating any of the pro- visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $1,000.00, and each and every day's continu- ance of any violation of the above enumerated section sh.all constitute and be deemed a separate offense. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on December 1, 1986.
