85-019 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 31-2 OF SAID CODE
ORBINANCE N0. 85-019
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMETdDED BY REVISING SECTION 31-2 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR
THE AUTHORIZATION TO CONTRACT WITH WATER CONSUMERS OR
PURCHASERS DESIRING WATER AT PARTICULAR PRESSURES, FLOW
RATE, AND VOLUME IN EXCESS OF 1.5 MILLION CUBIC FEET PER
MONTH OR WHICH REQUIRE CONSTRUCTION OF OVERSIZED ADDITIOPIS
TO THE WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 15, 1985.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That Section 31-2 of the Code of Ordi-
nances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so
that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 31-2 Contract for Water Service.
City water shall be delivered pursuant to and
only upon a written contract signed by the
consumer or purchaser providing for a terri of not
less than one month. Consumers or purchasers
whether residential_, commercial or industrial able
and willing to receive water at standard pressures
flow rate and volume utilizing the standard
distribution system of the City of Paris shall be
charged for such water in accordance with the
water rates established in section 31-18 of this
chapter. Consumers or purchasers desiring water
at a minimum delivery pressure, particular flow
rate, volume in excess of 1.5 million cubic feet
per month, or which require construction of
oversized additions to the City's distribution
system shall be delivered water pursuant to a
written contract upon such terms conditions and at
such rate as may be fixed by the City Council of
the City of Paris which rate shall be other than
the rate established in section 31-18 of this
chapter."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on
April 15, 1985 .
