85-020 ORD COP DECLARING STATE OF EMERGENCY
ORDINANCE N0. 85-020
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, DECLARING A STATE
OF EMERGENCY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. Due to the destruction suffered by the City of Paris, primarily
in the Northeast quadrant, the City Council of the City of Paris does hereby
declare a state of emergency and authorizes City forces to lend assistance
on private property in the areas damaged by wind on this the 13th day of May,
1985, in order to protect the health, life and property of the City and its
inhabitants.
Section 2. The destruction caused by the tornado in the City of Paris on
this 13th day of May, 1985, creates an emergency, and this ordinance is
declared to be an emergency measure and shall go into effect immediately upon
its passage and shall remain in effect so long as required, such need to be
reviewed weekly.
