MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LmRARY
ADVISORY BOARD
September 21, 2005
The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session
Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at 4:00PM in the City Hall Council
. Chambers with Chairman Bill Kennedy presiding. The following Board
members were present: Jackie Alsobrook, Debbie Anderson, Sarah
Gambill, Deborah Hatley, Bill Kennedy, Audrey Lakes, Carl Lucas, Fran
Neeley, and Jake Street Also attending were Priscilla McAnally, Library
Director, and Amanda Green, Friends of the Library President.
The minutes from the August meeting were approved.
The budget report was favorable.
August circulation statistics were down 29% from the same month of 2004,
and library visits were down 48%. A total of 351 new items were added to
the collection in August .
There were no Children's programs in the month of August.
Memorial donations for August totaled $485, with 23 new items donated.
Friends of the Library President Amanda Green reported that the book
sale held September 2-3 was a success. Approximate totals from the sale
were $3000. 15 new members joined the Friends group from the
membership night of the book sale. Thank you to Dr. Green for her work
with the organization, advertisement and success of the sale.
October 3 is the date set for the Frieg,cJs' Fall Luncheon. Table discussion
about the book Life of Pi with spealfDr. Stephen Walter will be the focus
of the luncheon.

Dr. Green distributed a sample memorial donation request that will be
placed in various locations around town.
Ms. ~lcAnally gave on update on the newly i~talled Polaris system. More
Public Access Catalog computers will be adderor patron usage soon.
A copy of the Circulation Policy was distributed. Some changes regarding
maximum number items to be checked out as well as maximum amount
due for overdue materials was discussed.
The meeting adjourned at 4:35 p.m.
The next meeting will be held Wednesday, October 19,2005 in the Gallery.
