AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE N0, 1710 OF THE
CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES
ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A
COMNiERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOT 7, CITY BLOCK 222-A, ON
PROPERTY BELONGING TO I.EONARD KAMMER, SO AS TO INCLUDE
THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A GENERAL RETAIL
DISTRICT (GR); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMER-
CIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section 1. That the boundaries heretofore established
by the Zoning Map and Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of
Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby changed,
and that a COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C), be, and the same is
hereby established on LOT 7, CITY BLOCK 222-A, on property
belonging to LEQNARD KAMMER, so as to include in such
COMYiERCIAL DISTRICT (C) the hereinafter described property,
which was formerly arrd is presently designated as a GENERAL
RETAIL DISTRICT (GR), and that the boundaries of said
CONIMERCIAL DISTRICT (C), be, and the same are hereby estab-
lished as follows:
Situated withirti the corporate limits of the
City of Paris, County of Lamar, and State of
Texas, and being a part of the George W. Cox
Survey and being the 5outh half of the first lot
set aside to Frances A. Lyon in the partition of
the Tobias Mullins Estate and situated an the
North Side of Lamar Avenue;
BEGINNING at a point in the NE line of Lamar
Avenue 69 feet West of the SW corner of the First
Tract allotted to Tobias Mullins, Jr., in said
partition, which point is the Southeast corner of
said F. A. Lyon's lot;
THENCE West 69 feet a stake in the NB line of
Lamar Avenue, it being the SW corner of the F. A.
Lyon lot and a.lso the Northern SW corner of the 16
3/4 acre tract deeded to Tobias Mullins by J. R.
Givens, by Deed of record in Book N-2, Page 335,
Lamar County Deed Records;
THENCE North with F. A. Lyon's South Boundary
Line, 257 feet a stake;
THENCE East 66 3/4 feet a stake in the East
Boundary Line of the F. A. Lyon lot;
THENCE South 257 feet to the place of begin-
ning.
Section 2. That the use of the property as requested
by the awner of the same be and is hereby restricted so that
a commercial billboard shall not be permitted on said
property until the sign ordinance of the City of Paris,
currently under review by the City Council of the City of
Paris is revised, amended or it is determined that the
current ordinance needs no revision it being conclusively
presumed that any such revision, amendment or confirmation
will have occurred on or before April 1, 1986 and thereafter
this property and the use thereof shall only be limited by
ordinance of the City of Paris and this conuition shall be
held for nought.
Section 3. That the Director of Community Development
of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby directed to
change the Zoning Map of the City of Paris in a.ccordance
with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use
map accompanying the same, and in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance.
Section 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon passage.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Paris, in regular session convened, in the Council Room,
City Hall, Paris, Texas, on this the 9th day of September,
1985.
