85-063 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 2 1/2 - 3 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE N0. 85-063
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 22-3 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING F0R
EXTENDED HOURS OF CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE;
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF DECEMBER l, 1985.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That Section 22-3 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so
that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 22-3. Consumption on public property, on
private property comsnonly used by the public, and
in priUate clubs.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to
consume or possess with intent to consume an
alcoholic beverage in a public place within
the corporate limits of the City of Paris on
Sunday bPtween 2:15 a.m. and 12 noon and on
any other day between 2:15 a.m. and 7 a.m."
Section 2. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C"
Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum
not to exceed $200.00, and each and every day's continuance
of any violation of the above enumerated section shall
constitute a.nd be deemed a separate offense.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
December 1, 1985.
