AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE ALLEY, RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH
FROM COOPER STREET NORTH TO WEST HENDERSON STREET, BEING
WEST OF 13TH N.W. STREET AND EAST OF 14TH N.W. STREET;
BEGINNING AT THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF COOPER STREET AND
THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF LOT 1, BLOCK 1, LOOKE ADDITION AND
THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 22, BLOCK 1, LOOKE ADDITION;
THENCE NORTH APPROXIMATELY 513 FEET TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER
OF LOT 11, BLOCK 1, LOOKE ADDITION AND THE NORTHEAST CORNER
OF LOT 12, BLOCK l, LOOKE ADDITION TO THE SOUTH BOUNDARY
LINE OF WEST HENDERSON STREET; DECLARING NO NECESSITY OR
NEED OF SAID ALLEY FOR CITY USE OTHER THAN FOR A UTILITY
EASEMENT, WHICH IS EXPRESSLY RETAINED BY THE CITY OF PARIS;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 14, 1985.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Paris, that an alley, running
North and South from Cooper Street North to West Henderson
Street, being West of 13th N.W. Street and East of 14th N.W.
Street; Beginning at the North Boundary Line of Cooper
Street and the Southwest corner of Lot l, Block l, Looke
Addition and the Southeast corner of Lot 22, Block l, Looke
Addition; THENCE North approximately 513 feet to the
Northwest corner of Lot 11, Block 1, Looke Addition and the
Northeast corner of Lot 12, Block l, Looke Addition to the
South Boundary Line of West Henderson Street, is of no use
as an alley or street to the City of Paris or to its
citizens, but is of use and necessary to the City of Paris
and its citizens for utility easement purposes, and the City
Council so finds; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That the alley, running North and South
from Cooper Street North to West Henderson Street, being
West of 13th N.W. Street and East of 14th N.W. Street;
Beginning at the North Boundary Line of Cooper Street and
the Southwest corner of Lot l, Block l, Looke Addition and
the Southeast corner of Lot 22, Block l, Looke Addition;
THENCE North approximately 513 feet to the Northwest corner
of Lot 11, Block l, Looke Addition and the Northeast corner
of Lot 12, Block 1, Looke Addition to the South Boundary
Line of West Henderson Street, is hereby closed, with the
City of Paris retaining a utility easement.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on
November 11, 1985.
Passed and adopted this llth day of November, 1985.
