84-004 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING ARTICLE III SECTION 7-31 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE N0, 84-004
AN ORDIPJANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMENDED BY REVISING ARTICLE III, SECTION 7-31 OF SAID CODE;
PROVIDING FOR THE COMPOSITION OF THE BUILDING HAZARD
INSPECTION COMMITTEE AND SUBSTITUTES THEREFOR; PROVIDING FOR
A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $1,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEkEWITH; ANB PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 1, 1984.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That Section of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Paris, Pa.ris, Texas, be amended so that such
shall read as follows:
"...Sec. 7-31. Inspection committee created;
purpose and composition of
committee.
There is hereby created a building hazard
inspection committee, to be an agency and
instrumentality of the city to aid and assist the
city in the protection of the lives and property
of its citizens under its charter powers. Such
committee shall consist of the City Engineer; the
Chief, Paris Fire Department; and the Director of
Community Development. In the absence of the City
Engineer, or at any time he is unable to act, the
Director of Engineering Services may act in his
place. In the absence of the Chief, Paris Fire
Department, or at any time he is unable to act,
the Assistant Chief of the Fire Department may act
in his place. In the absence of the Director of
Community Development, or at any time he is unable
to act, the Tax Collector may act in his place.
"...Section 7-37. Penalty.
(b) Any person violating any of the pro-
visions of this article shall be guilty of a Class
C misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined
in any sum not to exceed one thousand dollars
($1,000.00), each day's continuance of any vio-
lation of the above-enumerated section shall
constitute and be deeried a separate offense."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on
February 1, 1984.
