AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE STREET, BEGINNING APPROX-
IMATELY 130 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF
WEST HOUSTON STREET AND CONTINUING SOUTH A DISTANCE OF 130
FEET, KNOL,IN AS 36TH STREET N. W.; DECLARING NO NECESSITY OR
NEED OF SAID STREET FOR CITY USE OTHER THAN FOR A UTILITY
EASEMENT, WHICH IS EXPRESSLY RETAINED BY THE CITY OF PARIS;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 13, 1984.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Paris, that a street, beginning
approximately 130 feet South of the South Right-of-way line
of West Houston Street and continuing South a distance of
130 feet, known as 36th Street N. W., is of no use as an
alley or street to the City of Paris or to its citizens, but
is of use and necessary to the City of Paris and its
citizens for utility easement purposes, and the City Council
so finds; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAIrdED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Sectian 1. That the street, beginning approximately
130 feet South of the South Right-o~-way line of West
Houston Street and continuing South a distance of 130 feet,
known as 36th Street N. W., fully described in Exhibit A
attached hereto, is hereby closed, with the City of Paris
retainir_g a utility easement.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become eifective on
February 13, 1984.
Passed and adopted this 13th day of February, 1984.

Situated within the corporate limits of the City
of Paris, Lamar Caunty, Texas, a part of the Issac
Cruise Survey and being part of the Street Right-of-way
dedication to the City of Paris, Texas, by Final Plat,
by owner R. E. Hickmar., dated January 19, 1965, record-
ed in envelope No. 172-D, Plat Records, Lamar County,
Texas;
BEGINNING at a point for corner in the West
Right-of-way line of 36th Street N. W., said point
located South 0° 25' West, a distance of 130 feet from
the South Right-of-way lir.e of West Houston Street,
said point also being the Southeast corner of Lot 1,
Block D, of the Westweod Addition;
THErdCE South 0°25' West, along the West Right-
of-way line of 36th Street N. W., a distance of 130
feet to a point for corner;
THENCE South 89° 35' East along the South Right-
of-way line of 36th Street N. W., a distance of 50 feet
to a point for corner;
THENCE North 0° 25' East along the East Right
of-way line of 36th Street N. W., a distance of 130
feet to a point for corner, said point being the
Southwest corner, of Lot 9, Block B, of the Westwood
Addition;
THENCE North 89° 35' West along a line which is
parallel to arcl 130 feet South of the Scuth Right-of-
way line of West Houston Street to the place of
beginning and containing 0.1492 a.cres of_ land more or
less.
