AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAQ,
PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINAPICES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 24, OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADQPTION OF THE STANDARD GAS CODE, 1982 EDITIOrd; PRO-
VIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $1,000.00; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN F.FFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH l, 1984.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section 1. That Chapter 24 of the Code of Ordi-
nances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by
adding thereto Article II to read as follows:
"Chapter 24. PLUMBING AND GAS CODES
. . . Article II. GAS CODE
Section 24-11. Adopted.
For the purpose of establishirLg rules and
regulatians for governing gas piping systems
extending from the point of delivery to the inlet
connection of appliances, and the installation and
operation of residential and cem.mercial gas
appliances and related accessories, the design
fabrication, installation, test and operation of
such syster.ls for fuel gases such as natural gas,
manufa.ctured gas, undiluted liquified petraleum
gases, liquified petroleum gas-air or mixture
thereof for use in or on and about any and all
premises in the City of Paris, that certain gas
code known as Standard Gas Code, 1982 Edition,
save and except such portions as are deleted,
modified or Gmended by this article, is hereby
adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at
length herei.n. A copy of such Code has been and
is now on file in the office of the City C1erk and
the provisions thereof shall be controlling as
above stated.
"Section 24-12. Amendments.
The Standard Gas Code, 1982 Edition, as
adopted is hereby amended by the hereinafter
stated deletions:
Section 306.1. Metallic Pipe.
The second sentence is deleted.
Section 306.2. Metallic Tubing.
The second paragraph is deleted
therefrom.
Section 30$.5. Piping Passing Through
Concrete or Masonry Floors or Walls above Grade.
Subparagraph (A) 2, is deleted.
Section 2. That Chapter 24 of the Code of Ordi-
nances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended
by adding Section 24-13 to Article 2 to read as
follows:
"Chapter 24. PLUMBING AP1D GAS CODES.
Article II. GAS CODF..
Section 24-13. Penalty.
Section 114 of the Standard Ga.s Code, 1982
Edition, is amended to read as follows:
Any person, firm or corporation or agent who
shall violate a provision of this code or fail to
comply therewith or wi_th any of the provisions
thereof, or violate a detailed statement or plan
submitted and approved thereunder shall be guilty
of a Class C misder.meanor, and upon conviction
shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $1,000.00
and each and every days continuance of any vio-
lation of the Standard Gas Code, 1982 Edition or
Chapter 24, Article II of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Paris sha.ll constitute and be
deemed a separate offense.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the pro-
visiors of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C"
Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shal]_ be fined in any sum
not to exceed $1,000.00, and each and every day's continu-
ance of any violation of the above enumerated sections shall
cor.stitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective on
March l, 1984.
