WHEREAS, public hearings before the City Council of the
City of Faris, Paris, Texas, where all interested persons
were provided xaith an opportunity to be heard on the
proposed an.nexation of the followi.ng described property:
Situated within the Corporate Limits of
the City of Paris, County of Lamar, ancl Sta.te of
Texas, a part of the Reddin Russe?.i Survey, and
being all of a 4.1.13 acre tract of land conveyed
Paris, Texas Industrial Foundatian, Inc. by deed
recorded in Vol.. 430, Page 437, also being a_ part
of a 57.56 acre tract of land conveyed Faris,
Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc, by deed recorded
in Vol. 430, Page 337 of the Deed Records of said
County 2nd State.

of March, 1984 at 7:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Room,
City Hall, Paris, Texas, which dates are not more than forty
(40) nor less than twenty (20) days prior to t:he institution
of annexation proceedings; and,
WHEREAS, notice of such public hearings was published
in a newspaper having general circulatior. in the City of
Paris, Texas, and in the above uescribed terr_itory, cn the
26th day of February, 1984, and on the lst day of March,
1984, which dates are not more thaii twenty (20) nor less
than ten (10) days prior to the da.te of such public
hearings; and,
WHEREAS, the total corporate ar_ea of the City of Paris,
Pari_s, Texas, on the first day of January, 1984, wa5
14,064.84 acres; and,
WNEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas, is in excess of 25,000 and less tha.n 50,000 inhabi-
tar.ts ; and,
WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the
ex.traterritorial juri_sdiction of the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the abave described territary Iies adjacent to
and adjoins the City of Pa.ris, Paris, Texas; and,
W'HEREAS, the above described territory contains 90.62
acres, more or less, which r,ahen addeci ta other property
annexed in the year 1984 is less than ten per cent (107) of
the present acreage contained ir the corporate limits of the
City of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the above described pr_operty should be pro-
perly zaned as of the date of annexation; NOW THEREFORE,

PARIS:
Section l. The following described 12r_d and terri-
tory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris,
Paris, is hereby added a.nd anr.exed to the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas, and sai.ci ter.ritory hereinafter described shall
hereafter be included within the boundary limits ai the City
of Paris, Paris, Texa.s, and the present bcunciary limits of
s2id City, at the various poi_r_ts contiguQUS to the area
hereinaft-er dPSCribed are altered and amended so as ta
include said area within the corpora.te limits of the City of
Paris, Texas, to-wit:

Sectzcn 2. The above describeci territory and area
so annexed shall be part of the City of Paris, Texas, and
the property so added hereby shall bear its pra rata part of
the taxes levied by the City of Par.is, Paris, Texas, and the
inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights
a.n.d privileges of a11 the citizens and shall be bound by the
acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulation.s ef the City of
Paris, Faris, Texas.
Section 3. The above described territary is hereby
zoned Light Industrial (LI1 upon annexation as provided for
in Zoning Ordinance Nc,. 1710 of the City oi Paris, Paris,
Texas.
Section 4. It is hereby declared to be the inten-
tion of the City Council of the City of Paris that the
sections, pa_ragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this
ordir_ance are severable, and ff any phrase, clause, sentence
paragraph or secti.cn of this ordinance shall be declared
unconstitutioral or invalid by the valid judgment or decree
of any court of campetent jurisdiction, such uncotisti-
tutionality or invalidity shall not affect any of the
remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and
sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been
enacted by the City Council without the incorporation ir_
this ordinar.ce of any unconstituticnal. or invalid phrases,
clauses, sentences, paragraphs or sections. It is further
hereby declared to be the intention of thP City Council of
the City of Paris to exclude any area or areas described in
the descri.pr_ion of the property to be annexed, which are r_ot
within said Ci_ty's jurisdiction ta annex and that such area
or areas should be carved out of_ the description of the
property herein described by the valid judgr.:ent or decree of
any court of competent jurisdiction, in order that such area
or areas would not cause this annexatian ordinance te be
founcl to be invalid, voidable or void.
Section 5. This orclinance shall be publishecl and
passed in the mann.er provided in Article II, Section 7, of
the Charter of the City of Pari_s, Puris, Texas.
