ORDINANCE N0. 84-068
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMENDED BY REVISING ARTICLE I, CHAPTER 12, SECTION 12-1 AND
ARTICLE I, CHAPTER 25, SECTION 25-1 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING
FOR AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF FIRE FIGHTERS AND POLICE
OFFICERS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR. AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
OCTOBER 1, 1984.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That Article I, Chapter 12, Section 12-1
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 12-1. Composition of department.
The fire department of the City of Paris
shall be composed of the fire chief, fire marshal-
assistant fire chief and forty-two (42) members
classified as follows:
(1) One assistant fire marshal.
(2) One fire training officer.
(3) Three (3) deputy fire chiefs.
(4) Nine (9) fire engineers.
(5) Six (6) fire fighter-drivers.
(6) Twenty-two (22) fire fighters."
Section 2. That Article I, Chapter 25, Section
25-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as
follows:
"Sec. 25-1. Composition of department.
The police department of the city shall be
composed of the chief of police, and thirty-five
(35) members classified as follows:
(1) One (1) assistant chief.
(2) Four (4) police lieutenants.
(3) Eight (8) police sergeants.
(4) Twenty-two (22) police officers."
Section 3. Al1 ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
October 1, 1984.
