ORDINANCE N0. 83-019
AN URDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMENDED BY REVISIPIG SECTION 31-18 (a) AND (b); REPEALING
SECTION 31-18 (e); REVISING SECTION 31-19 (b), (c), AND (d),
SECTION 31-20, SECTION 31-26; AND ADDING SECTION 31-29;
PROVIDING FOR THE REVISION OF THE WATER AND SEWER RATES AND
SERVICE CHARGES; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY N0T TO EXCEEB
$200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
MAY l, 1983.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That paragraphs (a) and (b) of Section
31-18 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows:
"Section 31-18. Water rates.
(a) Charges for water furnished by the city
are hereby fixed at the following rates per cubic
foot per month, for both domestic and commercial
users, as registered. by the user's water meter:

(b) The following minimum monthly charges
for water furnished by the city, based on the size

Section 2. That paragraph (e) of Section 31-18 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
is hereby repealed and declared null and void and of no
effect.
Section 3. That paragraphs (b), (c) and (d) of
Section 31-19 shall be amended by changing the values in
each as follows:
"(b) From one dollar ($1.00) to one
dollar and 30/100 $1.30.
(c) From ten dollars ($10.00) to
thi-rteen dollars ($13.00).
(d) From $.20 to $.26."
Section 4. That Section 31-20 oi the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by
changing the value therein as follows:
"From ten dollars ($10.00) to thirteen
dollars ($13.00)."
Section 5. That Section 31-26 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by
changing the value therein as follows:
"From seven dollars ($7.00) to ten dollars
($10.00)."
Section 6. That the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by adding thereto Section
31-29 which shall read as follows:
"Section 31-29. Disconnection or
Reconnection Service Charge
When it becomes necessary for the Water
Department of the City of Paris to disconnect or
reconnect water service the foZlowing schedule of
charges shall apply:
Schedule Charge
8 a.r.i, to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday $ 5.00
5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday 15.00
Saturdays, Sundays ard Holidays 15.00
There shall be no charge for temporary service to
a building site; however, at the time of transfer
from temporary service to permanent service, the
above charge will be made."
Section 7. Any person violating any of the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C"
Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum
not to exceed $200.00, and each and every day's continuance
of any violation of the above enumerated sections shall
constitute and be deemed a separate office.
Section 8. Al1 ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 9. This ordinance shall become effective on
rlay 1, 1983.
