AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 1710 OF
THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROHIBITING THE ERECTION
OF FENCES EXCEEDING FORTY (40) INCHES IN FRONT YARDS; PRO-
VIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 1, 1981.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of
Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by changing Subparagraph
3 of Paragraph 9-502 to read as follows:
"3. The front yard shall be measured from the
property line to the front face of the build-
ing,covered porch, covered terrace or attached
accessory building. Eaves and roof extensions
may project into the required front yard for a
distance not to exceed four (4) feet and sub-
surface structures, platforms, slabs or fences
may not project into the front yard to a height
greater than forty (40) inches above the average
grade of the yard. (See appendix illustration 5)"
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C'°Misdemeanor,
and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed
$200.00.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
April l, 1981.
