ORDINANCE N0. 2580
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PRO-
VIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
AMENDED BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE NUMBERED 18-29; PROVID-
ING FOR A REWARD FOR ARREST AND CONVICTION FOR THEFT OF
CITY PROPERTY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
JUNE 8, 1981.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by adding a Section to
be numbered, 18-29, to read as follows:
"Sec. 18-29. Reward far Arrest and Conviction for
Theft of City Property.
The City hereby offers a reward of up to Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00) to any person supplying
information or evidence which results in the arrest
and conviction of arly person found guilty of com-
mitting the offense of theft of city property.
ihis reward is a standing offer and shall be paid
out of the general fund of the city. The amount
of tn.e reward to be paid in each case is to be
determined by a committee composed of the Director
of Finance, Chief of Police, and City Attorney.
Members of the Paris Police Department, Department
Heads and Division Heads are not eligible to receive
the reward herein established."
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on
June 3, 1981.
