AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710
OF THE C ITY OF PA R IS, PA R IS, TEXA S, A ND CHA NG ING THE
BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY;
ESTABLISHING A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) ON THE
NORTH 435 FEET OF LOTS 18A AND 19, CITY BLOCK 249, ON
PROPERTY BELONGING TO MORGAN JOHNSON AND W. D.
McGUINNESS, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMER-
LY DESIGNATED AS A ONE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2
(SF-2); AND DESIGNATTNG THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GENERAL
RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) SO ESTABLISHED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That the boundaries heretofore established by the
Zoning Map and Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas, be, and the same are hereby changed, and that a General
Retail District (GR), be, and the same is hereby established on the
North 435 feet of Lots 18A and 19, City Block 249, on property be -
longing to Morgan Johnson and W. D. McGuinness, so as to include in
such General Retail District (GR) the hereinafter described property,
which was formerly and is presently designated as a One-Family
Dwelling District No. 2(SF -2), and that the boundaries of said
General Retail District (GR), be, and the same are hereby established
as follows:
Situated within the Corporate Limits of the City of
Paris, Lamar County, Texas.
BEGINNING at the intersection of the South Line of
Lamar Avenue with the East Line of Collegiate Drive;
THENCE Easterly with the South Line of Lamar
Avenue, 309. 8 feet to a point, the Northwest corner of
a tract of land belonging to W. D. McGuinness;
THENCE Southerly with the McGuinness East
Boundary Line, 435 feet r.o a point;
THENCE Westerly, 435 feet South of and parallel
with the South Line of Lamar Avenue, 309. 8 feet to a
point in the East Line of Collegiate Drive;
THENCE Northerly with the East Line of Collegiate
Drive, 435 feet to the place of beginning.
Section 2. That the Director of Community Development of
the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby directed to change the
Zoning Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the provisions
of Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use map accompanying the
same, and in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon passage.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris in
regular session convened, in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris,
Texas, on this the llth day of June, 1979.
