RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE DONATION FOR GIFT OF A
HISTORICAL BRIDGE STRUCTURE BY THE LAMAR COUNTY
COMMISSIONER'S COURT FOR INCLUSION IN HERITAGE PARK;
MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City of Paris, in conjunction with interested citizens and citizen groups, has
aggressively pursued the improvement of the Paris Santa Fe Frisco Railroad Depot and the adjoining
property as a tribute to the historical past of the city of Paris, to be known as Heritage Park; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris continues to solicit grants and other funding to underwrite the
cost of said improvements to Heritage Park; and,
WHEREAS, the Commissioner's Court of Lamar County has offered the donation by gift of
a historical bridge structure, the same to be incorporated into the overall plan and design of Heritage
Park; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, desires to acknowledge the
generous offer of said structure and to accept said structure for incorporation into the park; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the City Council does hereby acknowledge the generous offering of and does
hereby accept the donation by gift of a historical bridge structure by the Lamar County
Commissioner's Court, said bridge to be incorporated into the overall plan and design of Heritage
Park.
Section 3. That the City Council does hereby direct the City Manager to undertake any and
all actions necessary to accept and incorporate the aforesaid bridge as a part of Heritage Park.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
