Presentation by Hayter Engineering and J. Stowe & Company on establishment of a drainage
improvement district; and provide direction to Staff.
POLICY ISSUE(S):
Establishment of a stormwater fee
BACKGROUND:
One of the major issues with solving drainage problems is funding. Staff would like direction from City
Council on the possibility of establishing a Drainage Improvment District. This option is given to
municipalities by the Local Government Code and allows for the creation of a stormwater fee which can
be used for solving drainage problems.
