SEPARATING, DISANNEXING, REMOVING AND EXCLUDING FROM
THE INCORPORATED AREA OF THE CITY OF PARIS, LAMAR
COUNTY, TEXAS, AN AREA EMBRACTNG APPROXIMATELY 116. 669
A CRES OF PROPERTY OWNED OR BETNG ACQUIRED BY PA RIS,
TEXAS INDUSTRLAL FOUNDATION, INC., DESCRIBED IN TWO
TRACTS, ONE OF WHICH CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY 19.09 ACRES
AND FRONTS ON THE SOUTH WEST RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF LOOP
286 S. W., BETWEEN THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF THE TEXAS
& PACIFIC RAILWAY RIGHT OF WAY AND THE NORTH WEST
RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF F. M. 137, AND THE OTHER OF WHICH
CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY 97. 579 ACRES AND FRONTS ON THE
SOUTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF F. M. 137, BETWEEN THE TEXAS
& PACIFIC RAILWAY RIGHT OF WAY LINE AND THE NORTH EAST
RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF LOOP 286 S. W., SAID PROPERTY BEING
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AND SAID
PROPERTY BEING WHOLLY UNINHABITED BY RESIDENCES OR
COMMERCIAL STRUCTURES; CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES OF
WARD THREE OF THE CITY OF PARIS SO AS TO EXCLUDE THE
HEREINA FTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY FROM SA ID WARD; IN-
STRUCTING THE CITY ENGINEER T'O MAKE A SURVEY FIXING
AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY IN
ACCORDANCE HEREWITH AND TO CONSTRUCT A COMPLETE MAP
OF SUCH TERRITORY HEREIN AND HEREBY EXCLUDED FROM
THE CORPORATE AREA OF THE CITY OF PARIS; AND ESTABLISH-
ING THE CITY LIMIT LINE RESULTING FROM THIS DISANNEXATION.
BE IT ORDA INED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That the following described property presently
located within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Lamar County,
Texas, which is wholly uninhabited, owned or being acquired by Paris,
Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc. , be, and the same is hereby
separated, disannexed, removed and excluded from the corporate
area of said City, and the boundary limits of the City of Paris are
hereby amended, changed and corrected, so as to exclude said terri -
tory and to conform to the same as herein set out in two tracts, to-wit:
TRA CT 1: Situated about 2-1/2 miles South
55 Degrees West of the City of Paris, Lamar County,
Texas, a part of the Lemuel Ewer, A sa Jarman and
Isaac Cruse Surveys, and being a part of 128. 38 acres
of land conveyed Paris, Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc.
by Nell Bankhead O' Neill and husband, 0. R. O' Neill,
recorded Book 550, Page 886, Deed Records, Lamar
County, Texas.
BEGINNING at a stake for corner at the intersection
of the South Boundary Line of the Texas & Pacific Railroad
Right of Way with the South West Right of Way Line of
Loop 286 S. W. ;
THENCE in a South Westerly direction with said Loop
Right of Way Line as follows: South 43 Degrees 30 Minutes
East, a distance of 276 feet; South 49 Degrees 30 Minutes
East, a distance of 702 feet; South 40 Degrees East, a
distance of 651 feet; South 3 Degrees East, a distance of
214 feet to a concrete marker for corner;
THENCE South 32 Degrees West along the West
Boundary Line of F. M. 137 a distance of 309 feet to a
stake for corner;
THENCE North 44 Degrees 30 Minutes West,
2140 feet to the South Right of Way Line of Texas &
Pacific Railroad Right of Way;
THENCE North 76 Degrees 30 Minutes East with
said Railroad Right of Way Line, 472 feet to the place
of beginning and containing 19.09 acres of land, more
or less.
TRACT 2: Situated about 1-1/2 miles South West
of the Court House, Paris, Lamar County, Texas, a part
of the Asa Jarman, Lemuel Ewer and James Bourland
Surveys, being described as follows:
BEGINNING at a stake for corner at the intersection
of the East Boundary Line of F. M. 137 and the South
Boundary Line of the Texas & Pacific Railway Right of
Way;
THENCE North 77 Degrees East along the South
Boundary Line of said Railroad Right of Way a distance
of 1645. 7 feet to a stake for corner;
THENCE South a distance of 761 feet to a stake
for corner;
THENCE South 56 Degrees 51 Minutes West,
1449 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE South 76 Degrees West, 1953. 3 feet to
a point;
THENCE South 66 Degrees 17 Minutes West,
390. 2 feet a stake in the North Boundary Line of
Loop 286 S. W. ;
THENCE North 39 Degrees 18 Minutes West, along
said Right of Way Line 20 feet to a concrete marker;
THENCE North 43 Degrees 08 Minutes West, along
said North Right of Way Line, 400 feet to a concrete
marker;
THENCE North 1 Degree 10 Minutes West, a
distance of 127. 9 feet to a concrete marker in the
East Boundary Line of F. M. 137;
THENCE along the East Boundary Line of F. M.
137 as follows: North 40 Degrees 46 Minutes East,
142. 6 feet; North 43 Degrees 15 Minutes East, 68. 3
feet to the beginning of a curve to the left having a
radius of 1849. 86 feet; Around said curve to the left
a distance of 236. 2 feet to the end of said curve;
North 50 Degrees 17 Minutes East, a distance of 830. 6
feet to the beginning of a curve to the left having a
radius of 2924. 79 feet; Around said curve to the left
a distance of 840. 6 feet to the end of said curve,
North 33 Degrees 49 Minutes East, a distance of
392 feet to the place of beginning and containing
97.579 acres of land, more or less.
Section 2. That the present boundaries of Ward Three of
the City of Paris are hereby corrected and changed, so as to exclude
the said above described property, and the same is hereby removed
and excluded from said Ward Three of the City of Paris, Texas.
Section 3. The City Engineer is hereby instructed to make
a complete survey of the above described territory and to mark the
boundaries of the City Limit Lines as established by this ordinance
after the removal and exclusion of the above described tracts from
the existing or present corporate limits of the City of Paris, and
he is further instructed to immediately correct the map of the City
of Paris so as to remove and exclude therefrom the territory de -
scribed herein, indicating on such map the date of the separation
and disannexation of said a bove described tracts from the corporate
limits of the City of Paris.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon passage.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris in
regular session convened on this 13th day of December, 1976.
