Non-action item. Provide direction to the staff concerning the sale of city property.
POLICY ISSUE(S):
Asset management.
The City has been approached by an individual who wishes to purchase the City owned lot located at
1060 N. Main Street. The lot was originally acquired in connection with the extension of MLK
Boulevard to N. Main Street. It was not used for that purpose, and the City does not need it for any
future project.
The staff seeks the Council's will concerning the sale of this property. If the Council desires to sell the
property, state law requires the use of sealed bids after publication of notice of the sale or the property
may be sold at public auction.
