PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING DIVISION 3 AND SECTIONS

ALL ORDINANCES FOROAN EF ECTIVE DATE OF

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PA R IS:
Section 1. That Division 3 and Sections 13 -59 through 13 -63
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be
amended so that such shall read as follows:
"DIVISION 3. FOOD HYGIENE DECAL
Section 13 -59. Required.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a food
establishment within the City or its police jurisdiction
for more than thirty (30) days without having a current
food hygiene decal.
Section 13 -60. Application.
Each person, within thirty (30) days of becoming an
operator of a food handling establishment, shall file with
the Paris-Lamar County Health Department a written
application for a food hygiene decal and shall satisfactorily
complete a food hygiene training course conducted by the
Paris-Lamar County Health Department.
Section 13 -61. Food Hygiene Training Course.
The Paris-Lamar County Health Department shall
conduct a food handlers' training course, consisting of
courses of instruction as prescribed by the Director of
said Health Unit, including but not limited to sanitary
food handling, state statutes and city ordinances relating
to food handling, food borne disease, prevention of di-
sease, personalhygiene, good housekeeping practices and
other related information, said course to be conducted
monthly as needed.
Section 13 -62. Fee.
The initial and annual decal fee shall be Five
Dollars ($5.00).
Section 13 -63. Issuance.
A food hygiene decal applied for under this
Division shall be issued by the Paris -Lamar County
Health Department initially upon the payment of the
fee and satisfactory completion of the food hygiene
training course. Said decal will be in the form of
an identification card. The decal may be renewed
by the payment of the annual fee for the two years
succeeding the initial issuance. After the expira-
tion of three (3) years, application must be processed
for a new decal which will not be issued until the
satisfactory completion of the food hygiene training
course. "
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" Misdemeanor, and upon
conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $200. 00.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
May 1, 1977.
