SPERRY'S FIRST ADDITION, AND FROM A POINT 10 FEET EAST
OF THE NORTH EAST CORNER OF LOT 6A, BLOCI< 9, SPERRY'S
FIRST ADDITION, EACH OF WHICH LIE IN THE WEST PAVEMENT
LINE OF 28TH STREET, S. W., IN A WESTERLY DIRECTION
APPROXIMATELY 396 FEET TO A POINT 12 FEET WEST OF THE

APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE FINAL ESTIMATE OF COSTS
AND CONSTRUCTION PLANS OF SUCH STREET IMPROVEMENTS
AS FILED BY THE DIRECTOR OF PUBL,IC WORI<S OF THE CITY
OF PARIS; FIXING THE CHARGES TO BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE
ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS AND THE CHARGES TO BE PAID
BY THE CITY OF PARIS; AND WITH THE INTENTION OF FIXING A
CHARGE AND LIEN AGAINST THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS OF
SAID PROPERTY AND AGAINST THE SAID PROPERTY ITSELF.
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
hereby finds and determines:
1. That the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas, has heretofore by ordinance duly enacted
on the 14th day of February, 1977, determined the
necessity for and ordered the improvement of West
I<aufman Street, from a point 10 feet East of the South
East Corner of Lot 1C, Block 9, Sperry`s Tirst
Addition, and from a point 10 feet East of the North
East Corner of Lot 6A, Block 9, Sperry's First
Addition, each of which lie in the West pavement
line of 28th Street, S. W. , in a Westerly direction
approximately 396 feet to a point 12 feet West of
the South West Corner of Lot 3C, Block 9, Sperry's
First Addition, and a point 12 feet West of the
North West Corner of Lot 4A, Block 9, Sperry s
First Addition, each of which lie in the East pavement
line of 29th Street, S. W. , by installation of an eight
inch (8") base of approved based material with a
one and one-half inch (1-1/2") asphalt surface,
constructing valley gutters and constructing curb,
gutter and driveway approaches, according to the
plans and specifications prepared by the Director of
Public Works.
2. That a notice duly executed in the name of the City of
Paris, Paris, Texas, of the enactment of said above
described ordinance has heretofore been filed with the
County Clerk of Lamar County, Texas, the County in
which said City of Paris is situated.
3, That the City Council has caused the Director of
Public Works to prepare and file estimates of the
costs of such improvements and estimates of the
amounts per front foot to be assessed against the
property abutting said street within the limits de -
fined and the real and true owners thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section 1. That the date for public hearing before the City
Council of the abutting property owners on the above described
property is hereby fixed at a:00 o'clock

Z'hat the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish in the Paris News,
notice of the public hearing, three (3) times prior to said public
hearing, the first of said notices to be published at least twenty-one
(21) days prior to the date of the public hearing, as required by law.
Section 2. That the report to the City Council by the Director
of Public Works, consisting of the final estimate of costs of the im-
provements to the abutting property owners of approximately $4. 31
per front foot for paving and a onalXCOStselt exte d pdr eways oand or
curb and gutter, plus any additi ert
other improvements to individual property as requested by prop Y
owners, as heretofore approved, and the final construction plans and
final estimate, as prepared by said Director of Public Works, are in
all things approved by the Cit_y Council of the City of Paris. That the
City of Paris is to pay one-third of the costs of paving and all
drainage costs, in the amount of $2, 348. 92, and the abutting property
owners are to pay the remaining costs of $4, 929. 66.
Section 3. That it is the intention of the City Council to assess
the abutting property owners and to fix a lien against the abutting pro-
perty, as provided for and under the terms and provisions of Chapter
106 of the Acts of the First Called Session of the 40th Legislature of xas
