2232 ORD CONTAINING HEARING ON PROERTIES LOCATED IN COP BELONGING TO VARIOUS OWNERSORDINANCE NO. 2232 . AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEA.RING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VAR- IOUS OWNERS, AND AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL FIND- ING THE MATERIALS REMAINING IN THE PREMISES TO CONSTI- TUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY AND A HAZARD TO THE LIFE AND WELFARE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA, AND ORDERING SAID RUBBISH, LUMBER AND REFUSE FROM THE STRUCTURES TO BE TORN DOWN AND REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES, IN ORDER TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCE. WHEREAS, a public hearing was, on the 14th day of July, 1975, called to order by the Mayor of the City of Paris, James M. Brunette, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. , in the City Council Room, in the City of Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazard Inspection Committee fixed a date for hearing on the resolution re - ferred to the Committee by the City Council on April 14, 1975, and said Committee fixed said hearing at 10:00 o'clock A. M. , on the 6th day of June, 1975, and the hearing was had thereon. That proper notice was given to the owner or owners of the structures located at the following addresses: 524 3rd Street, S. W. , Lot 6, City Block 136 (2 houses); 49 13th Street, N. W. , Lot 3, City Block 189; 139 27th Street, N. W. , Lot 33, Block 8, Sperry' s 1 st Addition; 2690 West Campbell Street, Lot 1, City Block 305; 1512 West Long Street, Lot 4, Block 3, Maxey Addition; 1116 llth Street, N. W. , Lot 2, City Block lOlA; 175 Viest Center Street, Lot 7, Block l, Smith 2nd Addition; 1381 7th Street, N. E. , Lot 13, Block 3, Williams Addition; 351 llth Street, N. E., Lot 8, City Block 68; 941 Van Zandt Street, Lot l, City Block 174; 968 Van Zandt Street, Lot 8, City Block 175; 1175 Van Zandt Street, Lot 15, City Block 174A; 1016 Blake Road, Lot 14, City Block 174; 1450 12th Street, N. E. , Lot 7, Block N, East Park Addition; 1260 20th Street, N. E. , Lot 13, City Block 262; 114 16th Street, S. E. , Lot 18, City Block 102; 602 5th Street, S. E. , Lot 13, City Block 142; 829 3rd Street, S. E. , Lot 51, City Block 160; and 1328 lOth Street, N. W. and 1330 lOth Street, N. W. , Lot 3, City Block 100C (2 houses). That at said hearing the Committee listed the structures involved and introduced pictures of the various portions of the structures and var- ious portions of the premises involved. That the Committee found that each of the above structures were in such state of deterioration and dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and pro- perty and that each of said buildings was dilapidated and was dangerous to life and property and dangerous structures to life and property. That said buildings are in such a state of dilapidation and decay that none of said structures are capable of repair. It is further found that the condition of the premises and structures involved were such that the Committee recommended to the City Council that they be de- clared a nuisance and that the owners thereof be ordered by the City Council to tear down and remove the same from the lots involved. That said Committee filed a complete report of its hearing and its findings with the City Clerk of the City of Paris on the 18th day of June, 1975; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has fully heard and considered the testimony presented upon the hearing and a complete transcript of the testimony reported by the Building Hazard Inspection Committee; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That the structures located at the following addresses: 524 3rd Street, S. W. , Lot 6, City Block 136 (2 houses); 49 13th Street, N. W. , Lot 3, City Block 189; 139 27th Street, N. W. , Lot 33, Block 8, Sperry's lst Addition; 2690 West Campbell Street, Lot 1, City Block 305; 1512 West Long Street, Lot 4, Block 3, Maxey Addition; 1116 llth Street, N. W. , Lot 2, City Block lOlA; 175 West Center Street, Lot 7, Block l, Smith 2nd Addition; 1381 7th Street, N. E. , Lot 13, Block 3, Williams Addition; 351 l lth Street, N. E. , Lot 8, City Block 68; 941 Van Zandt Street, Lot 1, City Block 174; 968 Van Zandt Street, Lot 8, City Block 175; 1175 Van Zandt Street, Lot 15, City Block 174A; 1016 Blake Road, Lot 14, City Block 174; 1450 12th Street, N. E. , Lot 7, Block N, East Park Addition; 1260 20th Street, N. E. , Lot 13, City Block 262; 114 16th Street, S. E. , Lot 18, City Block 102; 602 5th Street, S. E. , Lot 13, City Block 142; 829 3rd Street, S. E. , Lot 51, City Block 160; and 1328 lOth Street, N. W. and 1330 lOth Street, N. W. , Lot 3, City Block 100C (2 houses). are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared a nuisance, in that they are dangerous to life and property, and that the same constitute a fire hazard to life and property, and that the respective owners are hereby ordered to abate such nuisance within thirty (30) days from the date hereof. The City Clerk is directed to furnish the owners a copy of this ordinance, in the event the addresses of said owners are known, and in the event the respective owners refuse to comply with this ordinance, the City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, is hereby directed to proceed to enforce this ordinance by injunction in the District Court of Lamar County, Texas, as provided for in Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris.
