AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PRO-
VIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE NUMBERED
29 -62; PROVIDING FOR REGULATION OF LOCAL HEAVY TRUCK
TRAFFIC; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
OF DECEMBER 1, 1975.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PA R IS:
Section l. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas, be amended by adding a section to be numbered 29 -62,
to read as follows:
"Sec. 29 -62. Regulation of local heavy truck traffic.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any truck, truck
tractor and semi -trailer, or any commercial motor
vehicle with a rated capacity of one and one-half
(1-1/2) tons or more according to the manufacturers
classification, or the equivalent thereof, being
operated as local traffic, to enter or use streets
within the city, which are posted with signs stating
"No Truck Traffic".
(b) "Local traffic" as used herein means
traffic originating inside or outside the corporate
limits of the City of Paris with a destination inside
the corporate limits of the City of Paris. "
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" Misdemeanor, and upon
conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $200. 00.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
December l, 1975.
