2267 ORD PROVIDING EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LMITS OF COP AND ANNEXATION OF 31.45 ACRESORDINANCE NO. 2267 , AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CER - TAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 31.45 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, WHICH IS LESS THA.N TEN PER CENT (1070) OF THE TERRITORY INCLUDED WITHIN ITS PRESENT CITY LIMITS, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOTNS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND PRbVIDING ZONTNG FOR SAID TERRITORY. Whereas, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described territory: Situated partly within the Corporate Limits of the City of Paris, County of Lamar, State of Texas, a part of the Joseph Leach Survey, and being a tract of land now owned by D. Wayne Brown and G. Eugene Brown and being a part of the following tract of land conveyed J. L. Jopling, 25. 68 acres in Vol. 290, Page 581, 21. 8 acres in Vol. 309, Page 11, and 57 acres in Vol. 312, Page 509, and a 44 acre tract conveyed George O. Fisher, Jr, of record in Vol. 312, Page 381 of the Deed Records of said County and State and being further described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a stake for corner in the West Boundary Line of the Fisher tract, said stake being South 20 feet from the Nor theast corner of the above mentioned 25. 68 acre tract; THENCE East 200 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE South 28 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE East 300 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE South 320 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE East 200 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE South 320 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE East 350 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE South 185 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE West 20 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE South 400 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE East 185 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE South 20 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE East 150 feet to a stake for corner in the East Boundary Line of the above mentioned 57 acre tract; THENCE South a distance of 600 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE West 200 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE North 135 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE West 500 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE South 185 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE West 60 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE South 405 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE West 380 feet to a stake for corner in the East Boundary Line of Loop Highway 286; THENCE North 29 Degrees West along said East Boundary Line of Loop Highway 286, a distance of 635 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE North 62 Degrees E a distance of 145 feet to a concrete monument fnr corner; THENCE South 29 Degrees E a distance of 80 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE North 61 Degrees E a distance of 208 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE South 67 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE East 100 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE North 135 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE East 22 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE North 750 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE East 15 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE North 185 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE West 250 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE South 35 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE West 150 feet to a concrete monument for corner; THENCE North 700 feet to the place of beginning, containing 36. 94 acres, of which 5.49 acres lie within the existing c orporate limits of the City of Paris. was held at Paris, Texas, on the 13th day of October, 1975, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the in- stitution of annexation proceedings; and, WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas, and in the above described territory, on the 24th day of September, 1975, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and, WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the first day of January, 1975, was 13, 729. 728 acres; and, WHEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is in excess of 5, 000 and less than 25, 000 inhabitants; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extra- territorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 31. 45 acres, more or less, which when added to other property annexed in the year 1975 is less than ten per cent (10%) of the present acreage contained in the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described property should be properly zoned as of the date of annexation; NOW, THE REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Paris, TOxas, and the present boundary limits of said city, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to in- clude said area within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas, to-wit: Situated partly within the Corporate Limits of the City of Paris, County of Lamar, State of Texas, a part of the Joseph Leach Survey, and being a tract of land now owned by D. Section 5. This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in Article II, Section 7, of the Charter of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas.
