2287 ORD CONTAINING HEARING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED IN COP BELONGING TO VARIOUS OWNERSORDINANCE N0. 2287 . AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VAR- IOUS OWNERS, AND AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL FINDING THE MATERIALS REMAINING IN THE PREMISES TO CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY AND A HAZARD TO THE LIFE AND WELFARE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA, AND ORDERING SAID RUBBISH, LUMBER AND REFUSE FROM THE STRUCTURES TO BE TORN DOWN AND REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES, IN ORDER TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCE. WHEREAS, a public hearing was, on the lOth day of May, 1976, called to order by the Mayor of the City of Paris, James M. Brunette, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. , in the City Council Room, in the City of Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazard Inspection Committee fixed a date for hearing on the resolution re- ferred to the Committee by the City Council on December 8, 1975, and said Committee fixed said hearing at 10:00 0' clock A. M. , on the 16th day of April, 1976, and the hearing was had thereon. That proper notice was given to the owner or owners of the structures lo- cated at the following addresses: 1950 FM 137, Lot 4, City Block 343 612 lst Street, N. E. , Lot 7, City Block 92 620 lst Street, N. E. , Lot 7, City Block 92 1100 Block of 6th Street, N. E. , Lots 5 and 6, Block 1, Hull Addition 1149 8th Street, N. E. , Part of Lot 1 and Lot 2, Block 2, Pickard Addition 1565 llth Street, N. E. , Lot 2, Block D, East Park Addition 518 5th Street, S. E. , Lot 10, City Block 142 That at said hearing the Committee listed the structures involved and introduced pictures of the various portions of the structures and var- ious portions of the premises involved. That the Committee found that each of the above structures were in such state of deterioration and di- lapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and property and that each of said buildings was dilapidated and was dangerous to life and property and dangerous structures to life and property. That said buildings are in such a state of dilapidation and decay that none of said structures are capable of repair. It is further found that the condition of the premises and structures involved were such that the Committee recommended to the City Council that they be declared a nuisance and that the owners thereof be ordered by the City Council to tear down and remove the same from the lots involved. That said Committee filed a complete report of its hearing and its findings with the City Clerk of the City of Paris on the 4th day of May, 1976; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has fully heard and considered the testimony presented upon the hearing and a complete transcript of the testimony reported by the Building Hazard Inspection Committee; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That the structures located at the following addresses: 1950 FM 137, Lot 4, City Block 343 612 lst Street, N. E. , Lot 7, City Block 92 620 lst Street, N. E. , Lot 7, City Block 92 1100 Bloc k of 6th Street, N. E. , Lots 5 and 6, Block 1, Hull Addition 1149 8th Street, N. E. , Part of Lot 1 and Lot 2, Block 2, Pickard Addition 1565 llth Street, N. E. , Lot 2, Block D, East Park Addition 518 5th Street, S. E. , Lot 10, City Block 142 are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared a nuisance, in that they are dangerous to life and property, and that the same constitute a fire hazard to life and property, and that the respective owners are hereby ordered to abate such nuisance within thirty (30) days from the date hereof. The City Clerk is directed to furnish the owners a copy of this ordinance, in the event the addresses of said owners are known, and in the event the respective owners refuse to comply with this ordinance, the City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, is hereby directed to pro- ceed to enforce this ordinance by injunction in the District Court of Lamar County, Texas, as provided for in Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris.
