<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
<br />SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION FOR AN AUTO MOBILE THEFT
<br />PREVENTION GRANT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
<br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />WHEREAS
<br />, t h e City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 4th day of May,
<br />2000, in Resolution No. 2000-059, authorize an application to be made to the Texas Automobile
<br />Theft Prevention Authority for an Automobile Theft Prevention Grant; and,
<br />WHEREAS,
<br /> the City Council of the Cit of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of August,
<br />2000, in Resolution No. 2000-106, accept the Automobile Theft Prevention Program Grant entitled
<br />“Northeast Texa s Automobile Theft Task Force,” No. SA-01-T01-09363, for the year beginning
<br />September 1, 2000, and ending August 31, 2001, in the total amount of $100,000.00, requiring the
<br />City of Paris to provide $41,775.00 in the form of cash and $12,550.00 in th e form of in-kind
<br />services; and,
<br />WHEREAS,
<br /> the City of Paris has been made aware that the Texas Automobil e Theft
<br />Prevention Authority has additional funding available for automobile theft prevention grants; and,
<br />WHEREAS,
<br />the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing a supplemental
<br />grant application for the Automobile Theft Prevention Grant entitled "Northeast Texas Automobile
<br />Theft Task Force" project beginning September 1, 2000, and ending August 31, 2001, in the amount
<br />of $69,000.00, with no match required by the City of Paris, for the purchase of two (2) pickup trucks,
<br />one (1) display trailer for public awareness programs, a Ken wood dual band radio with a pyramid
<br />N OW,
<br />repeater, and supplies such as pens, shirts, and banners fo r public presentations;
<br />THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />Section 1.
<br /> That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
<br />approved.
<br />Section 2.
<br /> That a supplemental grant application be made to the Texas Automobile Theft
<br />Prevention Authority for an Automobile Theft Prevention Grant entitled "Northeast Texas
<br />Automobile Theft Task Force" project beginning September 1, 2000, and ending August 31, 2001,
<br />in the amount of $69,000.00, with no match required by the City of Paris.
