AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF
THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDA-
RIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISH-
ING A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR), FIRE LIMITS, ON LOT 20,
BLOCI< A, JEFFERSON HEIGHTS ADDITION, ON PROPERTY BELONG-
ING TO M. L. McEWIN AND JEAN McEWIN, SO AS TO INCLUDE
THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE-FAMILY
DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2(SF-2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDA-
RIES OF THE GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR), FIRE LIMITS, SO
ESTABLISHED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
Section l. That the boundaries heretofore established by the
Zoning Map and Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
be, and the same are hereby changed, and that a General Retail
District (GR), Fire Limits, be, and the same is hereby established on
Lot 20, Block A, Jefferson Heights Addition, on property belonging to
M. L. McEwin and Jean McEwin, so as to include in such General
Retail District (GR), Fire Limits, the hereinafter described property,
which was formerly and is presently designated as a One-Family
Dwelling District No. 2(SF-2), and that the boundaries of said
General Retail District (GR), Fire Limits, be, and the same are
hereby established as follows:
All that certain tract or parcel of land, situated about
3 1/2 miles South 53 Deg. East of the City of Paris, County
of Lamar, and State of Texas, a part of the Joseph Leach
Survey, and being a part of a tract of land conveyed Leslie
Echols by Fred Kirby as recorded in Vol. 309, Page 603, of
the Deed Records of said County and State.
Beginning at a stake for corner in the South Boundary
Line of Loop Highway 286, said point being Northerly and
Easterly a distance of 969. 6 feet from the North Boundary
Line of Farm Road 1507, as measured along the South
Boundary Line of said Loop Highway.
Thence Easterly along the South Boundary Line of said
Loop Highway along a curve to the left a distance of 210 ft.
to a stake for corner;
Thence South a distance of 411 ft. to a stake for corner;
Thence East a distance of 71 ft. to a stake for corner,
said point bei ng North a distance of 1384 ft. from the North
Boundary Line of Farm Road 1507, as measured along the
West Boundary Line of Monticello Drive and 200 ft. West of
Monticello Drive;
Thence South a distance of 86 ft. to a stake for corner;
Thence West a distance of 253 ft. to a stake for corner;
Thence North a distance of 392 ft. to the place of be -
ginning and containing 2 acres of land.
As determined by an actual survey on the ground by
W. R. Abbott,Registered Public Surveyor, November 3, 1967,
and recorded in Lamar County Deed Record Book , Page
, referenced herein for all necessary purposes.
Section 2. That the City Engineer of the City of Paris, be, and
he is hereby directed to change the Zoning Map of the City of Paris in
accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use
map accompanying the same, and in accordance with the provisions of
this ordinance.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon passage.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris in
regular session convened in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas,
on this the 12th day of March, 1973.
