AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES LO-
CATED IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VARIOUS
OWNERS, AND AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL FINDING
THE MATERLALS REMAINING IN THE PREMISES TO CONSTITUTE A
NUISANCE AND TO BE A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY
AND A HAZARD TO THE LIFE AND WELFARE OF THE INHABITANTS
OF THE AREA, AND ORDERING SAID RUBBISH, LUMBER AND RE-
FUSE FROM THE STRUCTURES TO BE TORN DOWN AND REMOVED
FROM THE PREMISES, IN ORDER TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCE.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was, on the 12th day of November,
1973, called to order by the Mayor of the City of Paris, F. D.
Mallory, III, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. , in the City Council Room, in the
City of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazard
Inspection Committee fixed a date for hearing on the resolution re -
ferred to the Committee by the City Council on August 13, 1973, and
said Committee fixed said hearing at 9:00 o'clock A. M. , on the 28th
day of September, 1973, and the hearing was had thereon. That
proper notice was given to the owner or owners of the structures lo-
cated at the following addresses:

That at said hearing the Committee listed the structures involved and
introduced pictures of the various portions of the structures and
various portions of the premises involved. That the Committee found
that each of the above structures were in such state of deterioration
and dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and property
and that each of said buildings was dilapidated and was dangerous to
life and property and dangerous structures to life and property. That
said buildings are in such a state of dilapidation and decay that none of
said structures are capable of repair. It is further found that the
condition of the premises and structures involved were such that the
Committee recommended to the City Council that they be declared a
nuisance and that the owners thereof be ordered by the City Council to
tear down and remove the same from the lots involved. 'Ihat said
Committee filed a complete report of its hearing and its findings with
the City Clerk of the City of Paris on the 19th day of October, 1973; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has fully heard and considered the
testimony presented upon the hearing and a complete transcript of the
testimony reported by the Building Hazard Inspection Committee; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:

are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared a nuisance, in that they
are dangerous to life and property, and that the same constitute a
fire hazard to life and property, and that the respective owners are
hereby ordered to abate such nuisance within thirty (30) days from the
date hereof. The City Clerk is directed to furnish the owners a copy
of this ordinance, in the event the addresses of said owners are
known, and in the event the respective owners refuse to comply with
this ordinance, the City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, is hereby directed
to proceed to enforce this ordinance by injunction in the District Court
of Lamar County, Texas, as provided for in Article III of Chapter 7
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris.
