ORDINANCE NO. 2009 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BY REVISING SECTION 15-5 ( g), PROVIDII~ FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A BIRTH REGISTRATION CARD FOR SCHOOL OR EMPLOYMENT PURPOSES FOR A FEE OF FIFTY CENTS ($.50), AND BY REVISING SECTION 15-5(i), SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE ISSUANCE OF A BIRTH OR DEATH CERTIFICATE SHOWING ILLEGITIMACY UNLESS ORDERED TO DO SO BY A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 1, 1971. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That Section 15-5(g) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Section 15-5. Registrar of vital statistics. (g) The registrar of vital statistics shall, upon request of any parent or g uardian, supply, for a fee of fifty cents ($.50) a birth registra- tia n card limited to a statement as to the date of birth of any child when the same shall be used for admission to school or for the purpose of se- curing employment." Section 2. That Section 15-5(i) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Section 15-5. Registrar of vital statistics. (i) The registrax of vital statistics shall not issue a certified copy of any birth or death certificate wherein a child or an adult is stated to be illegitimate, unless such certified copy is ordered issued by the county court or some other court of competent jurisdicti on, r" Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on April l, 1971. Passed and adopted this 8th day of March, 1971. B.
