POLICY ISSUE(S): Surplus property. The City periodically auctions off surplus vehicles and equipment. This resolution declares the attached list of property surplus and authorizes the City to sell the property at auction. The City has used Rene Bates Auctioneers, Inc. for our vehicle auctions and equipment auctions and has had good results from this process. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, DECLARING VARIOUS USED CITY-OWNED VEHICLES SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING DISPOSITION OF THE SURPLUS PROPERTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE AND LOCAL LAW; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, several departments of the City of Paris have furnished a list of used vehicles, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", which no longer serve a useful purpose for the City of Paris and its operation, and it would be appropriate that said vehicles be declared surplus property and disposed of in accordance with State and local law; and, WHEREAS, the City will enter into an Agreement with Rene Bates Auctioneers, Inc. to auction off the referenced surplus property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the used vehicles described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto, be, and the same are hereby, declared to be surplus property of the City of Paris, and the same may be disposed of in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Paris. Section 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute any and all documents necessary with Rene Bates Auctioneers, Inc. to auction off the referenced surplus property. Section 4.
