2022 ORD AMENDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BY REVISING SECTION 17-16 OF SAID CODEORDINANC E NO. 2022
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCFS OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, TEXAS, BY REVISING SDCTION 17-16 OF SAID CODE; PRO-
VIDING THAT THE LIBRARY BOARD OF DIRDCTORS SHALL CONSIST OF
NOT LFSS THE1N FIVE (5) MEMBERS NOR MORE THAN TWEI,VE (12) MF.NI-
BERS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCFS OR PARTS OF ORDINANCFS IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN F.FFECTIVE DATE OF MAY 10,
1971.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section l. That Section 17-16 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall
read as follows:
"Section 17-16. Composition; appointment and terms of
members ; filling of vacancies.
The board shall consist of not less than five (5)
members nor more than twelve (12) members. The members
of the board shall be appointed by the city council for
a term of one (1) year, or until their successors are
appointed and qualified. Vacancies on the board result-
ing from resignations or any other cause shall be filled
by appointment of the city council, upon the recommenda-
tion of the board, but the number of inembers shall in no
case be less than five (5) nor more than twelve (12),11
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on
May 10, 1971.
