AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCFS OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BY REVISING SBCTION 8-8, TO INCLUDE
PROHIBITION OF SWIMMING AT PLACES OTHER THAN ARFAS M4RKED FOR
SWIMMING AT LAKE GIBBONS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EX-
CEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
JULY 1, 1971.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That Section 8-8 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall
read as follows:
1'Section 8-8. Swimming prohibited in Lake Gibbons
and Lake Crook.
Swimming shall be prohibited at all times in the
waters of Lake Gibbons except in those areas specifi-
cally marked or designated as swimming areas.
Swimming shall be prohibited at all times in the
waters of Lake Crook, and no person shall be found in
such waters, unless in the act of skiing, or after
having fallen cCf his skis, or in the act of regaining
them or the boat towing the skis."
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of
this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con-
viction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed Two Hundred
($200.00) Dollars.
Section 3. Al1 ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
July 1, 1971.
