AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE
CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TF.XAS, CR.EATING AN EXPRFSSWAY SERVICE
STATION DISTRICT (ESS), PROVIDING FOR A SPDCIFIC USE PERMIT
FOR GASOLINE SERVICE STATIONS AND FOR AUTO FUFL SA.LES IN THE
NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE, GENERAL RETAIL AND COMMIIZCIAL DISTRICTS
AND SPI7CIFIC USE PERMIT FOR HEAVY MACHINERY SALFS AND STORAGE
IN THE EXPRFSSWAY SERVICE STATION DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPFALING ALL ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCFS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFBCTIVE DATE OF JULY 1, 1972.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas be amended as follows:
a. The first three sentences of Paragraph 3-100
be amended to read as follows:
"The City of Paris is hereby divided into eighteen
(18) zoning districts. The use, height and area
regulations as set out therein are uniform in each
district. The eighteen (18) districts established
herein shall be known as:"
b. The following district is added to the list
of zoning districts in Paragraph 3-100:
"Abbreviated Zoning District
Designation Name
ESS Expressway Service Station District"
Section 2. The following paragraphs of Section 8 are
amended by providing for permissible uses to be made in the
Bcpressway Service Station District (FSS) and by adding to
and amending the Schedule of Uses as follows:

Delete Gasoline Service Station from the permissive
uses in the General Retail District (GR) and the
Commercial District (C)
Add Gasoline Service Stations (39) as a permissive
use with a Specific Use Permit in the General Retail
District (GR) and the Commercial District (C)
Add Auto Fuel Sales (40) as a permissive use in the
CA, LI, HI and PD Districts and with a Specific Use
Permit required in the NS, GR and C Districts.

Heavy Machinery Sales and Storage as a permissive
use with a Specific Use Permit in the Expressway

District.
Section 3. That Section 8-201 be amended by adding
Paragraphs 39 and 40 as follows:
11(39) Gasoline Service Stations - A business
conducting the sale of gasoline and oil,
minor auto repair, washing, lubrication
and other periodic maintenance.
(40) Auto Fuel Sales - The sale of automotive
fuels only by self-service establishments
or as an accessory and incidental use to
a primary use."
Section 4. That Section 9-401(2) of Ordinance No. 1710
be amended by providing for a maximum percent of lot area
which may be covered by building in non-residential use of
30%.
Section 5. That Section 9-501(2) of Ordinance No. 1710
be amended by adding Expr essway Service Station District (ESS)
to the list of districts and show the requirement of the mini-
mum front yard in feet except as hereinafter provided to be:

Section 6. That Section 9-601(2) of Ordinance No. 1710
be amended by providing for a minimum side yard in the
Expressway Service Station District (ESS) as follows: "as
specified in 9-602 (8 ) . "
Section 7. That Section 9-602 of Ordinance No. 1710 be
amended by adding Paragraph 9 as follows:
119. A side yard of 50 feet is required where
Expressway Service Station District (FSS)
abuts upon districts other than HI or LI."
Section 8. That Section 9-701 of Ordinance No. 1710 be
amended by adding Paragraph 5 as follows:
115. A rear yard of 50 feet is required where FSS
abuts upon districts other than HI or LI."
Section 9. That Section 10-102 of Ordinance No. 1710 be
amended by adding Paragraph p to read as follows:
"p. Gasoline Service Stations - Five spaces for
each work stall, wash or grease rack plus one
space for each 200 sq. ft. of sales area.'°
Section 10. That Section 11-101 of Ordinance No. 1710
be amended by adding "ESS, Expressway Service Station District"
as a district with the following Maximum Height of Buildings
and Structures requirement: "None"
Section 11. That Section 12-100 of Ordinance No. 1710
be amended by adding Paragraphs (47), (48) and (49) as follows:
11(47) Heavy machinery sales and storage in the
ESS District.
(48) Gasoline Service Stations in the G3R and
C Districts.
(49) Auto Fuel Sales in the NS, GR and C Districts."
Section 12. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $200.00.
Section 13. Al1 ordinaxices or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
Section 14. This ordinance shall become effective on
July 1, 1972.
